 History:     Taken in 1957 when I was REME Airborne attached to the Parachute Regiment at RAF Abingdon which was the home of 1 Parachute School at that time I was the only Army Mechanic there, really a great posting as I had only a few vehicles to look after.  They were passed around a bit, ours was mainly used by the C.O. but we did sometimes have the use of it at weekends as a Duty vehicle. Very popular with us as it was quite a machine to drive.  Our living quarters then were on an old Royal Navy Airfield at Culham a few miles from the RAF Camp at Abingdon, no officers lived there so life was much easier at weekends, and we could blast around the Airfield
