|History:||Information from Mandy in May 2011: " I have
been working on the Champ and found a tactical sign on
the bonnet. Being Blue / Yellow with a white 40 and appears to be on the
yellow sand colour. I had less luck on the other side as there was chips of
paint missing but there was a Red oval 6x9 inches with a yellow 1/2 inch
boarder and something in white in the centre.
THE SIGNS YOU HAVE FOUND ARE 1960'S TA:
[A] 40 ON BLUE/YELLOW: THIS IS ROYAL ARMY SERVICE CORPS [RASC] AND FROM 1965, ROYAL CORPS OF TRANSPORT [RCT] DIVISION HQ.
[B] RED OVAL WITH YELLOW EDGE WITH YELLOW TRIDENT IN CENTRE: THE FORMATION SIGN YOU DESCRIBE IS LIKE 44th [HOME COUNTIES] DIVISION [TA].
THEREFORE, THE SIGNS ARE: HQ-44th [HOME COUNTIES] DIVISION TRANSPORT RASC/RCT.
Was Mark Peacock, Stradbroke, Suffolk. Mark contacted the Register in September 2008 after buying the vehicle from Kent and supplied the two photos
